Smart Gas Station Project with an Integrated Safety and Control System Using Internet of Things (IoT) Technologies.
The project was implemented by Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Hayali.
The project was developed locally using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and Arduino boards, representing a prototype for a multifunctional smart gas station.
Project Concept:
The project consists of several smart systems working integratively to provide a safe and practical experience:
Smart Garage Gate:
A system that detects available spaces in the loading area and only opens the gate if a spot is free. This reduces congestion and improves organizational efficiency. It uses ultrasonic sensors to check space availability.
Employee Access Gate:
Operates using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and opens only for authorized personnel (employees). This enhances building security and prevents unauthorized access.
Real-Time Staff Counter:
An LCD screen displays the number of staff present inside the building in real time. This is especially critical during emergencies such as fires, helping estimate how many people might need rescue.
Gas Leakage Detection System:
A comprehensive safety system using gas sensors (MQ series) to detect any gas leaks within the station and immediately trigger a buzzer alarm upon detection. This helps prevent disasters and protects lives and property.
Technologies Used:
Arduino UNO boards
Ultrasonic sensors
MQ-x gas sensors
LCD display screen
RFID module
Buzzer alarm
Project Importance:
This type of project serves as a living example of how to integrate technology into daily needs in a smart and safe way. It also opens new possibilities for developing more efficient and secure fuel stations, showcasing the great potential of local talents in programming and electronics.
